A breast MRI is a non-invasive, painless medical
test that helps physicians diagnose and treat
breast abnormalities. It is used as a supplemental
tool for detecting and staging breast cancer,
and should not replace mammography or
ultrasound imaging.
Indications for Breast MRI
Evaluate abnormalities detected by mammography
Identify early breast cancer in women with
dense breast tissue and women who are at high risk
Evaluate women who have breast implants more closely
Distinguish between scar tissue and tumors
Benefits of Breast MRI
Detects lesions that cannot be seen by mammography or ultrasound
Helps to diagnose a broad range of conditions,
including detecting and staging breast cancer
No radiation exposure
